2 cups rolled oats
2 cupts all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
12 ounce package semisweet chocolate pieces
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Lightly grease cookie sheets.
3. Combine oats, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
4. Beat together shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla extract.
5. Stir oat-flour mixture into butter-sugar mixture; stir in chocolate pieces.
6. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto prepared sheets.
Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned
